Henning is trained media designer and works as software developer in Dortmund.
His musical career began with recorder lessons at primary school, followed by piano and drum lessons.
At the age of 8, he got his first computer, the legendary Commodore 64. Shortly afterwards, he began programming. He made contact with some music software, but did not start composing yet. He also made contact with the demo scene and wrote a few effects.
Four years later he moved on to the Commodore Amiga. After getting in touch with the amiga demoscene, he began composing tracked music. He did some soundtracks for several demo groups and a lot of experimental stuff, merely proove of concepts rather than anything worth listening to it.
In 1996, he left the demoscene and active music to concentrate on studying. One year later, a request by an amiga demo group for a soundtrack dragged him back into scene and music.
He slowly moved to the PC after getting hands on a Gravis Ultrasound card, using Scream Tracker and Impulse Tracker. From now on, he began releasing his music. Cubase and outboard equipment entered the studio, and several professional courses followed and the first CD-R's were released.
Beside this computer music carreer, he is also involved in "real" music, playing a lot of (custimized) wind instruments and drums for the fantasy folk band "Cathain" and the tribal folk band "Dragonbreath". He even learned some guitar and vocals ;-). He also played Drums for several Bands, including Mescalinum and a short visit with Destination Nowhere.
Fantasy Folk
Cathain blends irish folk, medieval music and LARP experience into their own style of folk music named Fantasy Folk.
Henning plays normal and special whistles, drums, guitars and sometimes a slideridoo. Within Cathain he is called "Loki".
"Tribal Folk"
Dragonbreath stands for Tribal Instruments, Drums, Whistles, and Lots of Fire. Dragonbreath will make you move, one way or the other ;-)
Progressive Chillout Metal
Emerged from demoscene music done 1995, Tiefenrausch presents a blend of Goa, Metal and Industrial elements into smooth soundtracks. The sound of Tiefenrausch create an athmosphere of it's own.
Medieval Electronic
Feenfeuer mainly creates electronic remixes of medieval and folk music, beside own songs.
Gothic / Industrial
Midgard Burning is both Hennings main project and the most personal one. Compiling personal experiene and feelings into music was and is the driving factor behind this project.
Most of this music is "program music", thus the lyrics are transformed into the music itself rather than just turning them into vocals.
Electronic Body Music
Lure is the first cooperation of Henning and Singer Kristina, now known for her appearence with Cathain and Oneiros.
Industrial / Rhythm'n'Noise
Loudness and drive are imperative to {t.b.a.} productions.
